FAQ`s
All of the horns that we get in stock go through a thorough inspection and play test (if possible). We do whatever is necessary to get the horn playing like new again. Sometimes it requires a complete overhaul, other times replacing a pad or two and a few adjustments and it is good to go. Rest assured that the saxophone you receive from Brass Foghorn will play like a new horn.
We try to ship within 24 hours of receiving the order. We are in Oregon, so if you are on the west coast, it will take 2-3 days. East coast takes about a week to receive your new horn.
We hold down some keys with foam to help prevent damage from impacts. We use bubble wrap to protect the horn in the case. The case usually does a pretty good job as it is formed to the shape of the sax. Any slack is filled in with bubble wrap. The case is placed into a snug fitting box that is tapped up and sent off. We seldom have issues with shipping. We use UPS with tracking.
Yes we do. Take a few pix of your horn. A short description (does it play, any damage, etc.) and how much you want for it. If it makes sense to us, you’ve got a deal. We will send your sax to you and you send the trade in horn to us, the price of the horn you are buying will be adjusted accordingly.
Yes. We clean and sanitize them and then play test them. After that we clean and sanitize again and they put into inventory. Before shipping, one more cleaning and sanitizing.
Mostly. You will have the complete saxophone, neck, mouthpiece, ligature, strap and case. All horns also come with a complimentary cleaning and care kit. You will need some reeds, we usually only provide one to try out the horn, as they are a personal choice. Any good music shop should have what you need, or Amazon has many to choose from. If you are a music student, ask your instructor what they recommend.
