About Brass Foghorn

Brass Foghorn is located in Newport Oregon. We are 700’ from the Pacific Ocean. When we’re not making noise testing a horn or just jamming for the fun of it, we can hear the surf, sea lions and a foghorn in the distance. We work on brass horns all day and listen to the foghorn, hence our name. The nearby State park has an amphitheater called “ The Foghorn Theater”. Foghorns and lighthouses are kind of a big deal around here.

Sax Overhaul
At Brass Foghorn Vintage Saxophones, we take pride in our repair work. Our moto is: “If it doesn’t play as new, we wont sell it,” it’s that simple!
We do simple adjustments to full overhaul of our saxophones. Whatever it takes to get the horn playing as new.
This is what a sax overhaul looks like:
- We completely disassemble the horn, cleaning and polishing all pieces.
- Each saxophone is thoroughly inspected, with any loose parts soldered as needed.
- All pads, corks, and felts are replaced, and tone holes are leveled.
- Damaged springs are replaced, and the action is lubed and reassembled.
- After adjusting pads and setting the regulation, the saxophone is play-tested extensively.
- We continue to tweak and test over a couple of weeks to ensure everything sets in perfectly.
Only after this comprehensive process do we take pictures and list the saxophone for sale, offering you an instrument in new or better playing condition..
